1.34

原夫聖人有以見生生根器之不齊也，故用四教五味經而緯之；有以見萬法弛張之不殊也，故用一道一乘會而成之。

Now, observing that the faculties and capacities of living beings are uneven, the Sage used the four teachings and five flavors as warp and woof to weave them; seeing that the relaxation and tension of the myriad phenomena are no different, he used the one Way and the One Vehicle to integrate and accomplish them.
