二、料簡，二：初、問。二、苦，二：初、兩教區別。荊溪云：若作三門等者，此緣前文對文殊、淨名判三十二人例別竟，今更問答，顯別圓耳，不可專判以為別教。若於一門攝四十二，諸門亦然。二、四門收束。

Second, critical analysis, in two: First, question. Second, answer, in two: First, the distinction between the two teachings. Jingxi says: "If one takes the three gates..." and so forth: this is because the preceding text, in contrast to Mañjuśrī and Jingming, finished classifying the thirty-two people as analagous to the Distinct [Teaching]; now question and answer are raised again merely to reveal the Distinct and the Perfect, and one must not exclusively classify them as the Distinct Teaching. If forty-two are subsumed within one gate, all gates are likewise so. Second, subsumption under four gates.
