九、師子，二：初、釋名。二、釋門。荊溪云：先約世兩名，次辨同異。「若取」下，斥舊。「今取」下，正釋。「摩訶那伽」，此云大龍，名佛為人中大龍也。

9. Lion. There are two parts. First, explaining the name. Second, explaining the gate. Jingxi says: First regarding the two names in the world, and next distinguishing sameness and difference. From "If one takes" onward, reproaching the old; from "now we take" onward, the correct explanation. "Mahānāga" is translated here as Great Dragon, naming the Buddha the Great Dragon among humans.
