十二、那羅延，二：初、釋名。「那羅延」者，《涅槃疏》翻為金剛。二、釋門。「不出不到」者，不出生死、不到涅槃，以皆空故。荊溪云：正當通意，今須在圓。

12. Nārāyaṇa. There are two parts. First, explaining the name. "Nārāyaṇa": the commentary on the Nirvāṇa Sūtra translates it as vajra. Second, explaining the gate. "Neither departing nor arriving": not departing from birth-and-death, not arriving at nirvāṇa, because both are empty. Jingxi says: This directly fits the meaning of the common [teaching]; now it must reside in the perfect [teaching].
