問：此十善與前尸羅同異云何？同何假列，別相如何？答：尸羅相通，對一人說。今離為十，以對多人。暹云：前文持戒中明十善，是約十善上更加持戒。此單修十善，不受律儀。

Question: How do these ten wholesome deeds differ from or agree with the previous śīla? If they are the same, why list them again? What are their distinct characteristics? Answer: The characteristics of śīla are common, spoken with respect to one person. Now they are separated into ten, with respect to multiple persons. Daoxian says: 'In the previous text, explaining the ten wholesome deeds within upholding precepts was adding the observance of precepts on top of the ten wholesome deeds. Here, one simply cultivates the ten wholesome deeds without receiving the monastic codes.'
