二、釋色用。「一行釋成色用」者，若據經文，諸佛演法之言似明聲益，何謂色用？故荊溪云：色心之言，聲亦屬色。況舉說驗形，其形方實。若不驗說，雜魔外故。

Second, explaining the function of form. As for "one line explaining and establishing the function of form," if based on the sūtra text, the words "the Buddhas expounding the Dharma" seem to elucidate the benefit of voice; why is it called the function of form? Therefore Jingxi says: In the words "form and mind," voice also belongs to form. Furthermore, adducing the expounding verifies the form, and only then is the form real. If one does not verify the expounding, it would be mixed with Māras and non-Buddhists.
