四、釋第四句。「不約一體」者，荊溪云：有二義故。一者漸化之始未須一體，二者以一體三消經文不便。

Fourth, explaining the fourth line. As for "not based on the single essence," Jingxi says: "Because of two meanings: first, at the beginning of gradual transformation, the single essence was not yet needed; second, using the single-essence three [jewels] to interpret the sūtra text would be inconvenient."
