二、身子見穢。三、釋見淨穢之由。荊溪云：此文且準明依佛慧則見淨土。應知佛慧理通衍門，平等之言復兼三教，此則通斥身子但見於穢不見四淨。

Second, Śāriputra sees defilement. Third, explaining the reason for seeing the pure and the defiled. Jingxi says: This text, for the time being, clarifies that relying on the Buddha's wisdom brings sight of the pure land. One should know that the principle of the Buddha's wisdom pervades the Mahāyāna gate, and the word "equal" furthermore encompasses the three teachings; this, then, generally reprimands Śāriputra for merely seeing the defiled and not seeing the four purities.
