問：淨名即是果德佛不？答：從本必然，迹為因化。觀心十德尚得名為觀行如來，發心畢竟豈踰於此？

Question: Is Jingming precisely a Buddha of the fruition virtue? Answer: From the perspective of the fundamental, it is necessarily so; in the trace, he acts as an expedient transformation of the cause. The ten virtues of the contemplation of mind may still be called the Tathāgata of contemplative practice; how could the ultimate [fruition] of the initial aspiration surpass this?
