二、「若」下，拒難釋成。若不於二土攝生、五時設化者，何須八相耶？八相者，下兜率、託母胎、降生、踰城、降魔、成道、說法、涅槃。

Second, from "If" downward, rebutting objections to establish the explanation. If one did not gather sentient beings in the two lands and set forth transformation in the five periods, why would the eight aspects be needed? The eight aspects are: descending from Tuṣita, entering the mother's womb, taking birth, leaping over the city wall, subduing Māra, realizing the path, turning the wheel of the Dharma, and nirvāṇa.
