Second, the Tathāgata sends to inquire, in two parts: first, the Buddha knows his mental reflection. "A wise person knows wisdom": a wise person of the ultimate fruition knows a wise person of partial reality. Using a snake to illustrate wisdom, its meaning can be known. Only those of the same kind can see it, and others cannot behold it; this saying comes from the Dàzhìdù lùn.
