二、料簡，二：初、問。荊溪云：秖緣前含，是故問答欲令意顯。故問意云，為顯四榮應以榮折，雖著義字苦等仍存，故云枯也。但是四枯，顯榮何在？

Second, analysis and evaluation, in two: first, the question. Jingxi says: "Precisely because the preceding [section] contained [both], questions and answers are raised to make the meaning evident. Thus the intent of the question says: in order to reveal the four blooms, one should break [them] down with bloom; although the word 'meaning' is appended, suffering and the rest still persist, hence it is called 'withered.' Since there are only the four witherings, where is the revelation of bloom?"
