四、淨名答，二：初、分科。二、隨釋，二：初、答有真天眼人。荊溪云：經有佛世尊等者，有人以「有」字為上句末，深不可也。何者？所言誰者，本問其人兼及有無，故須還以人為答也，是故疏中但釋答人。「無二邊偽」者，辨佛眼之功用也。「見色」等者，應云即中見麁細色。

Fourth, Jingming answers, in two: first, dividing the sections. Second, explaining in sequence, in two: first, answering that there is a person with the true heavenly eye. Jingxi says: "Regarding the sūtra having 'the Buddha, the World-Honoured One,' etc.: someone took the character 'have' (you) as the end of the preceding phrase, which is deeply inadmissible. Why so? The word 'who' originally asked about the person while encompassing presence and absence; therefore, one must in turn answer with the person; for this reason, the commentary only explains the person answered." Regarding "free from the deception of the two extremes": distinguishing the function of the Buddha eye. Regarding "seeing form...", one should say: within the middle seeing coarse and fine form.
