二、約悲田問，二：初、懸談義旨，二：初、總示。二、「此文」下，別解，二：初、斥古。「舊解無當」者，二家釋義俱不當理，故總斥云無當也。「折令同六師」者，令反出緣起也。

Second, the inquiry in terms of the field of compassion, in two parts: first, generally discussing the essential principle, in two parts: first, a general indication; second, from "this text" downward, specific explanations, in two parts: first, reproaching the ancients. Regarding "The old explanations are inappropriate": the meanings explained by the two masters both do not accord with the principle, hence they are generally reproached as inappropriate. Regarding "bending [him] to be the same as the six teachers": making him turn away from dependent origination.
