三、正述被彈之事，二：初、分科。二、隨釋，六：初、正彈訶，二：初、正釋。二、料簡，二：初、正簡財法，二：初、問。荊溪云：文但略消法施而已。經但對財而云法施，其旨難辨，故須問起。然向疏文雖說財中有法之理，未是彰灼示其觀門。今欲雙明故亦須問。

Third, directly recounting the matter of being reproached, which has two parts: first, dividing the sections; second, explaining sequentially, in six parts: first, the direct reproach, which has two parts: first, the direct explanation; second, sorting and distinguishing, which has two parts: first, directly distinguishing material and Dharma [giving], which has two parts: first, the question. Jingxi says: The text merely briefly clarifies the gift of the Dharma. The sūtra only speaks of the gift of the Dharma in contrast to material [giving]; its purport is difficult to discern, so it must be raised as a question. However, although the preceding commentary text spoke of the principle of the Dharma being within material [giving], it did not distinctly show its contemplation gate. Now, wishing to clarify both, it must also be asked.
