二、答，二：初、他解。先總敘意。「有言」下，敘古也。「是權隣果」者，謂本是金粟如來，權示等覺菩薩。「有三生」者，即下文始、住、終也。二、今釋。荊溪云：雖復有訶，不妨高位。雖曰消文，意兼斥古。「央掘」，如前記。

Second, the answer, in two: first, others' explanations. First, comprehensively recounting their intention. From "there are those who say" below, recounting the ancients. "Being provisional and adjacent to the fruit" means that originally being the Tathāgata Suvarṇaprabhāsa, he provisionally manifests as an equal-enlightenment bodhisattva. "Having three births" refers to the beginning, abiding, and end in the text below. Second, the present explanation. Jingxi says: Even though there is reproach, it does not impede their high stage. Although this is called parsing the text, the intent simultaneously refutes the ancients. "Aṅguli[māla]" is as recorded before.
