三、問空何用空，二：初：問。荊溪云：所以更進問等者，問中雙申兩問之勢，初通約理性對智以辨，「況又言」去，別約真諦，以斯空名近真諦故。一往且從隣近為問。問空何用空，備斯二意。

Third, regarding the question of what use emptiness has for emptiness, there are two parts. First is the question. Jingxi says: "As for the reason he further advances to ask, etc., within the question he presents the force of two inquiries: first, it is generally framed in terms of the nature of principle paired against wisdom to distinguish them; from 'how much more when it is further said' onward, it specifically concerns ultimate truth, because this name 'emptiness' is close to ultimate truth. For the moment, he poses the question from the standpoint of this proximity. 'What use does emptiness have for emptiness?' contains both of these meanings."
