Second, from "Now in terms of..." onward, explaining extensively what is symbolized, in two: first, directly in terms of the four lands, in four: first, Shared Dwelling, in two: first, defiled; second, pure; second, Expedient Means; third, Real Reward; fourth, Quiescent Light. Jingxi says: The Land of Constant Quiescent Light is ultimately pure, symbolizing the ultimate. If explained in terms of manifesting this sign for one's own practice, it directly means that Mañjuśrī and I have both eliminated subtle smoke; hence it is used to symbolize it. For others it is also thus; in principle one must follow the ultimate. "Symbolizing the end of real reward" also refers to equal enlightenment. Regarding "Hence the *Bodhisattvabhūmi*..." etc., the preceding phrase explains its reason, and next, from "leaving all..." onward, directly showing that the severance of hindrances is called dhyāna clarifies that this is equal enlightenment.
