3. From 'Just as a person' down, concluding and explaining self and other, in two: first, establishing the metaphor; second, from 'Real [wisdom]' down, applying the explanation. 'Real wisdom is also like this' applies [the metaphor of] 'like a person'. Real wisdom is merged with the dharmakāya, like sleeping without illness. Real wisdom gives rise to responsive application, like sleeping with illness. Real wisdom is the reward body (saṃbhogakāya). The text has two: first, regarding one's own practice: real wisdom merges with the true. Second, from 'If there are' down, regarding transforming others: real wisdom gives rise to response, in two: first, directly clarifying: 'It is real wisdom and the dharmakāya responding to them' means that when reward [body] unifies with Dharma [body], it can give rise to responsive application, just as mercury combined with genuine gold can gild various forms. Second, from 'If Jing[ming]' down, concluding by analogy.
