二、立問廣明，二：初、約小乘立義問。未得四果謂得四果，未證涅槃謂證涅槃，即以四禪為四果涅槃也。得初禪謂初果乃至得四禪謂四果，此小乘中說增上慢也。

Second, posing questions to clarify extensively, in two: first, posing questions based on the small vehicle's established doctrines. Not having attained the four fruits but claiming to have attained the four fruits, not having realized nirvāṇa but claiming to have realized nirvāṇa—this is taking the four dhyānas to be the four fruits and nirvāṇa. Taking the attainment of the first dhyāna to be the first fruit, up to taking the attainment of the fourth dhyāna to be the fourth fruit: this is what is called overweening pride in the small vehicle.
