Second, contemplating that the bodily illness is neither departed from nor extinguished has two [parts]: first, dividing into sections; second, explaining following [the text], which has two [parts]: first, clarifying real wisdom in terms of not departing—Jingxi says: regarding "this sickness is this body" etc., the bodhisattva self-contemplates the real illness of bodily sickness, which means clarifying the real object by means of real wisdom. The object is precisely the real essence, which is identical in reality with compassion; thus compassion and beings are together neither new nor old; second, clarifying provisional wisdom in terms of not extinguishing—Jingxi says: regarding "toward other sentient beings," it still awaits conditions.
