論曰：由體不二之理故有無二智，由無二之智故適化無方，適化無方則施教不一，施教不一故稱詔不同。是知不二之門為名本也。上已顯其名本，今次敘其本名。敘其本名，略有二種：第一總論眾教、第二別敘此經。

The treatise states: Because one embodies the principle of nonduality, there is nondual cognition. Because of nondual cognition, one adapts and transforms [beings] without fixed direction. Adapting and transforming without fixed direction, the bestowal of teachings is not uniform. The bestowal of teachings not being uniform, the titles assigned to them differ. Hence we know that the gate of nonduality is the root of the title. Above, the root of the title has already been revealed; now, next, we relate its fundamental title. In relating its fundamental title, there are briefly two aspects: first, a general discussion of the various teachings; second, a specific account of this sūtra.
