The treatise says: Existence and nonexistence give birth to each other; the high and the low overturn each other. Because there is existence, there is nonexistence; because there is no existence, there is no nonexistence. Dependent on duality, there is nonduality; if there is no duality, then there is also no nonduality. Therefore a sūtra says: 'Do not cling to the dharma of nonduality, because there is neither one nor two.' This, then, is neither speech nor silence, neither conventional nor ultimate, putting an end to contemplation and conditions—what duality or nonduality could there be?
