Commentary: Below this is the second: the Buddha displaying spiritual power. Within it there are three [aspects]: first, transforming the many into the few; second, transforming the small into the large; third, manifesting [everything] within it. This passage has two: First, transforming the many into the few, combining them into one parasol, which signifies cultivating various wondrous causes such as the four immeasurables to jointly realize the single, true dharmadhātu. Second, transforming the small into the large, covering the trichiliocosm, which reveals that the principle of tathatā completely pervades the dharmadhātu without being absent anywhere, also manifests that the immeasurables cover everything, and further manifests that the cause is small while the fruit is vast. A thousand four-continents have one encircle mountain ring, called a small chiliocosm. A thousand small chiliocosms have one encircle mountain ring, called a medium chiliocosm. A thousand medium chiliocosms have one encircle mountain ring, and is therefore called a great trichiliocosm. It is the third tier of thousands, so it is called 'great chiliocosm.' Hence below it speaks of the Cakravāḍa mountains and the Mahācakravāḍa mountains.
