贊曰：此勸修因。因即菩提心，或勸修報化因。報化因者，菩提心是。欲得此身斷諸有情煩惱業病，及斷四大違損病者，當發無上正等覺心。正等覺心，二利因故。得佛身者自利，斷他病者者利他。

Commentary: This exhorts the cultivation of the cause. The cause is the bodhicitta, or it exhorts the cultivation of the causes for the saṃbhoga[-kāya] and nirmāṇa[-kāya]. The causes for the saṃbhoga[-kāya] and nirmāṇa[-kāya] are the bodhicitta. Those who wish to attain this body to sever the afflictive and karmic illnesses of sentient beings, as well as to sever illnesses caused by the discord and damage of the four mahābhūtas, should generate the mind of unexcelled perfect awakening. The mind of perfect awakening is the cause of both benefits: attaining the Buddha's body is self-benefit; severing the illnesses of others is benefiting others.
