贊曰：空理義云，俗有待，法有比；真無待，故無比。俗中有緣故屬因，因所得故；真中無緣故不屬因，因緣生法皆說空故。應理義云：真如妙無比，更無有物可相待故。真如不屬因，非緣所得、非因生故，名不在緣。

Commentary: According to the principle of emptiness: the conventional has relativity, so phenomena have comparisons; the ultimate is non-relative, so it has no comparison. In the conventional there are conditions, so it belongs to causes, being obtained through causes; in the ultimate there are no conditions, so it does not belong to causes, because phenomena born of causes and conditions are all said to be empty. According to the principle of the reasonable: tathatā is wonderfully peerless, because there is no other entity against which it can be correlated. Tathatā does not belong to causes; because it is not obtained through conditions and not born of causes, it is said to ‘not depend on conditions.’
