The Commentary states: Below presents the correct principle. The text again has two parts: first presenting the beggar, second presenting the donor. Within presenting the beggar, the text again has three parts: first demolishing the six marks, next guarding the six sense faculties, and finally clarifying the realization of principle and the cultivation of causes. First, demolishing the six marks: 1. Demolishing one-sided practice; 2. Removing the notion of food; 3. Dispelling the mark of villages; 4. Breaking the mark of cities; 5. The mark of approaching the Buddha's family; 6. Demolishing the mark of attachment. This is demolishing one-sided practice. If one only begs from the poor, the poor should become rich; if one does not beg from the rich, the rich should become poor. Therefore, abiding in equality, one should beg for food. The old sūtra did not have six, but only four, lacking entering cities and approaching the Buddha's family.
