贊曰：自下第二顯其自迷。譬如有人在路而行，為極重暗之所拘礙，迷失諸方。我時無知覆我心故，不識此是何之言，不知何答，便捨自鉢欲出其舍。

The Commentary says: Below, the second [part] reveals his own confusion. For instance, like a person walking on a road who is obstructed by heavy darkness and loses all sense of direction. At that time, ignorance covered my mind, so I did not know what kind of words these were, nor did I know how to answer, and so I set down my bowl and wished to leave his house.
