贊曰：五述發願。新學苾芻已曾犯罪，乍見慧辨，誰不虔恭？故為作禮。
The Commentary says: Fifth, recounting their making of vows. Newly ordained monks who had committed offenses—upon suddenly seeing such wisdom and eloquence, who would not be reverent? Therefore they paid homage to him.
