贊曰：下正陳詞。有五：初正陳理詰、二勸彼出家、三童子請問、四無垢教示、五童子獲益。初中有三：初總非、次別詰、後結正。此初文也。

The Commentary says: Below, directly stating the words. There are five parts: first, directly stating the principle to interrogate him; second, encouraging them to leave home; third, the young men inquiring; fourth, Vimalakīrti instructing them; fifth, the young men attaining benefit. The first part has three aspects: first, general negation; next, specific interrogation; and later, concluding and rectifying. This is the first text.
