The commentary says: The third major section concludes with an exhortation to reveal the truth. There are two parts: first, a brief exhortation revealing the truth; second, an extensive exhortation revealing the truth. The brief section has two parts: first, a brief exhortation; second, a brief revelation. This is the brief exhortation. In terms of the principle of emptiness: Do not entice the devaputras with conceptualized marks and hold them back, causing them not to realize the truth. In terms of the Yuktivāda principle: Maitreya previously taught the dharmaparyāya of causes and conditions; now Vimalakīrti uses the dharmaparyāya of tathatā to challenge the shallow with the profound, and so Maitreya does not answer for the moment. Cultivating only the shallow teaching of causes and conditions for beginners is called 'enticing'; being unable to advance and surpass is called 'holding back', because their practice is sluggish. One should demonstrate tathatā and true wisdom, teaching them to ripen their faculties and enter quickly.
