Commentary: The two graspings, self and dharmas, are agitated dharmas, which serve as the objects of all discriminations and whose essence is not tranquil. The true principle is not like this; therefore, it is free from discrimination, and the agitations and bondages of all discriminations are also eternally tranquil. The older translation says, 'Obstruction is bodhi,' which corresponds to this freedom from bondage, yet its meaning is hard to grasp. It mentions what is to be countered to reveal that freedom is bodhi, yet it lacks [the mention of] tranquility.
