贊曰：此二句，以智依如。法者功德，界者性也，功德法性，故若法界。智住法界，隨其真如至窮極故。舊經云「順是菩提」，順於如故。

Commentary: These two phrases show knowledge relying on suchness. 'Dharma' means virtues, and 'dhātu' means nature; the nature of the dharmas of virtue is therefore like the dharmadhātu. Knowledge abides in the dharmadhātu, conforming to its tathatā to the utmost limit. The older sūtra says, 'Bodhi is conforming,' because it conforms to suchness.
