Commentary: The following three phrases clarify the function of bodhi as knowledge. Complete knowledge refers to the illuminating function of the mental movements; correct knowledge is precisely the doorway of comprehension, for other than this there is no other function of comprehension. Being inseparable in essence from the internal six sense-bases, arising based on the six sense-bases to comprehend all dharmas, it is called a doorway, and there is no other doorway. The older text calls it 'not meeting,' where the phrasing is corrupt and difficult to understand. Fruit-knowledge is able to meet [the object]; it is not that cause-knowledge might meet it through the six sense-bases.
