贊曰：勇猛修作，不憚劬勞，名為增上，故能究竟證會佛果菩提涅槃。舊云「深心增益功德」者，當證佛果故。

Commentary: Cultivating courageously without fearing hardship is called 'superior'; thus one is able to ultimately realize and encounter the buddhahood fruit of bodhi and nirvāṇa. The older translation's rendering 'the profound mind increases merit' means one will realize the fruit of buddhahood.
