Commentary: Skillfully explaining the essentials of the Dharma is like a lion's roar, because through wondrous wisdom one discerns with fearlessness. What is feared is scolding, revulsion, and contempt. As powers, fearlessnesses, and so forth are all possessed, being skilled with respect to sentient beings, there is no one who scolds or feels revulsion; hence it constitutes bodhi. Therefore the older translation says, 'Because of being free from faults'—since powers and the like are without fault, no one feels revulsion toward them.
