贊曰：此五嚴果，一莊嚴菩提，擬登正覺；二深法無驚，能受能說；三正觀解脫門，能修能證；四於涅槃攀緣希入，舊經無此；五觀眾生終不非時，時諸應機觀而濟利，非時者不應根機往施教利。故世尊說法無四失：一無非處、二無非時、三無非器、四無非法。

Commentary: These five [clauses] concern adorning the result: (1) Adorning bodhi, aspiring to ascend to correct awakening; (2) Having no alarm at the profound Dharma, being able to receive and expound it; (3) Correctly contemplating the doors of liberation, being able to cultivate and realize them; (4) Clinging to and aspiring to enter Nirvāṇa—this is absent in the older sūtra [translation]; (5) Contemplating sentient beings, never doing so untimely; at the right time, when various [beings] accord with their spiritual capacity, one contemplates and delivers benefit to them, whereas untimely means that one does not go to bestow teaching and benefit on those whose faculties and capacities do not accord. Therefore, in expounding the Dharma, the Bhagavat is free from four faults: (1) no inappropriate place; (2) no inappropriate time; (3) no inappropriate vessel; and (4) no inappropriate teaching.
