4.328

贊曰：三為釋也。有二：初釋、後勸。釋中有三：初喻、次心、後結。此喻也。冥者暗也。新明不盡，舊明不減。

Commentary: Third, explaining in detail. There are two parts: first, the explanation; and later, the exhortation. Within the explanation there are three: first, the metaphor; next, the mind; and finally, the conclusion. This is the metaphor. "Darkness" (冥) means obscurity. The new light is inexhaustible, and the old light does not decrease.
