贊曰：若有我者，不能堪忍，見大苦故。故無我相，引發堪忍。執著身心，不能精進，生疲倦故。遠身心相，即能精進，不憚劬勞。

Commentary: If one has [the conception of] a self, one cannot endure, because one perceives great suffering. Therefore, the mark of selflessness brings forth forbearance (kṣānti). Clinging to body and mind, one cannot be vigorous, because fatigue arises. Distancing oneself from the marks of body and mind, one can then be vigorous, not dreading toil and weariness.
