4.37

贊曰：此顯勸由，有四難故。一佛出世難、二離八無暇難、三得人身難、四具有暇難。今得有暇，可謂功德，汝可出家。舊無後三。

Commentary: This reveals the reason for the exhortation, because there are four difficulties: 1. the difficulty of a Buddha appearing in the world; 2. the difficulty of avoiding the eight conditions devoid of leisure; 3. the difficulty of obtaining a human body; 4. the difficulty of possessing leisure. Now that you have obtained leisure, it may be called a virtuous merit; you should renounce. The older [version] lacked the latter three.
