Commentary: This is the third answer. The meaning of the Śūnyatā principle states: because according to ultimate truth there is nothing at all, the Buddha-lands are empty; hence it says 'empty through emptiness'. The meaning of the Yukti principle states: because they are empty of the parikalpita [nature], only then can the dharmakāya and saṃbhogakāya Buddha-lands be revealed. The dharmakāya and saṃbhogakāya Buddha-lands are therefore called empty and designated empty; it does not mean there is no emptiness at all.
