贊曰：示身無我，誰為病者？不勸成熟有情，無實眾生可成熟故。若假有情，亦勸成熟故。舊經說「教導眾生」。二乘示空永入寂滅，菩薩雖示一切空寂，除諸有恐，不勸眾生入畢竟寂。此二皆由大悲熏故。

Commentary: Demonstrating that the body is without self, who is the ill one? One does not encourage ripening sentient beings, because there are no real sentient beings to be ripened. If it is nominal sentient beings, one also encourages ripening them; hence the older sūtra says 'teaching and guiding sentient beings.' The two vehicles demonstrate emptiness to enter eternal quiescence; although the bodhisattva demonstrates that all is empty and quiescent, removing all fears of existence, he does not encourage sentient beings to enter ultimate quiescence. Both of these are due to being perfumed by great compassion.
