贊曰：下破他疾。有四：一逢緣起想、二恒作救心、三知法性空、四觀因說法。此初文也。若增若觸，恩有苦者，大悲為救。我之少苦尚為難忍，恩他救療。況他多苦，長夜難堪而不加救？

The Commentary says: Below is refuting the illnesses of others. It comprises four parts: first, giving rise to reflection upon encountering circumstances; second, constantly maintaining the intention to rescue; third, knowing that the nature of dharmas is empty; and fourth, observing causes and expounding the Dharma. This is the first passage. Whether suffering intensifies or touches [the body], having grace toward those who have suffering, one rescues them with great compassion. Even my own slight suffering is difficult to endure, and I rely on others to heal it; how much more so for the many sufferings of others, unbearable throughout the long night—how could one fail to rescue them?
