The Commentary says: Below, revealing the exhaustion of reason: first, the interrogation, and later, the revelation. Within the revelation there are also two parts: first, stating his own affairs, and later, revealing the words of the other. His own affairs have two parts: first, revealing the other's question, and later, revealing his own answer. This is the interrogation and the revelation of the other's question. These young men were of the brahmin class, with the clan name Licchavi. The Buddha was a wheel-turning king and Rāhula was the successor to the lineage; therefore, in now praising him, they also spoke of a wheel-turning king. Wheel-turning kings are of four kinds: iron, copper, silver, and gold, each ruling respectively over the populace of one, two, three, or four continents, as usually differentiated. Having cast off the jewel of the wheel-turning emperor to leave home, what benefit is there in practicing the merits of leaving home?
