贊曰：此徵詰也。聲聞極多，難以對晤，鶖子上首，所以偏告，欲令彼知聲聞道故。
Commentary: This is the inquiry. The śrāvakas were extremely numerous and difficult to address individually; Śāriputra was the foremost among them, which is why he specifically addressed him, intending to make them understand the path of the śrāvaka.
