Commentary: The fifth is succeeding. Bodies and thrones matching is called sitting upright and dignified. Expressing gratitude for the seats and placing their trust [in the Buddha] demonstrated that [the śrāvaka vehicle] is not the superior path, in order to cause them to generate the resolve [for awakening]. The *Cheng weishi lun* says: "If it is the body, vessel world, planes, self, or other transformed by the power of concentration and the like, then it is not fixed." From this we may deduce that the size of the thrones and bodies was elicited by the spiritual power of another, and consciousness transformed according to large or small without discrepancy.
