贊曰：雖起煩惱，而成勝力，性淨無染。雖示眾魔，證佛覺慧，不隨魔縛。隨他緣者，隨他緣縛。上十九句，不同凡夫行。後十四句，不同二乘行。二乘得有貧缺根等諸惡劣故，曲分為七，其義分明。

Commentary: Although he arouses defilements, he accomplishes superior strength, being pure by nature and undefiled. Although he displays the hosts of Māra, he realizes the awakened wisdom of the Buddhas, not following the bondage of Māra. "Not following other conditioning factors" means not being bound by conditions governed by others. The above nineteen phrases differ from the practices of ordinary beings. The following fourteen phrases differ from the practices of the two vehicles. Because the two vehicles may still possess various inferiorities such as poverty and defective sense faculties, they are subdivided into seven [sections], their meanings being clearly distinct.
