贊曰：此喻顯也。隨缺五根，於五境中無能受用。諸阿羅漢缺煩惱根，故於佛法不志求也。
The commentary says: This clarifies by metaphor. Whatever of the five faculties is lacking, one cannot enjoy its corresponding object among the five sense fields. The arhats lack the faculty of afflictions, and therefore they do not aspire to seek the Buddha-dharmas.
