贊曰：下第三段，命使往求。有四：初示有食之處、二選誰能往求、三化令傳此言、四使承威往請。初文有三：初總標起用、次別陳所示、後結成眾覩。此初文也。雖恒在定，順俗今入；若不現通，他終不見故也。

Commentary: The third section below concerns dispatching an emissary to seek [the food]. It has four parts: first, revealing the place where the food is; second, choosing who can go to seek it; third, creating an emanation to convey these words; fourth, the emissary relying on spiritual power to go and request it. The first part has three aspects: first, generally indicating the rising of activity; second, specifically explaining what is revealed; third, concluding with the assembly beholding it. This is the first aspect. Although he is always in samādhi, in accord with convention he now enters it; for if he did not display supernormal powers, others would ultimately not see it.
