贊曰：下答。有二：初答不同、後釋利相。此初文也。不同此土依音聲起文詞說法，但以妙香令其息惡，故云調伏。

Commentary: The following is the answer. It has two parts: first, answering that it is different; second, explaining the characteristics of benefit. This is the first text. Unlike this land where preaching the Dharma relies on vocal sounds to generate words and phrases, there they merely use marvelous fragrances to make them cease evil; hence it says "subdued."
